InfamousBands.com Beta Bands get a shot at being the Featured Band for their channel for an entire year. That means that when we're out promoting InfamousBands.com to record labels, sponsors, venues, and industry execs, we're using YOUR band as the example of the kinds of bands we feature. Your band will be featured in hundreds of press kits, and dozens of press releases. Guaranteed Finals Spot The winner of each channel in the Beta program will also get a guaranteed spot in the finals of the first year's competition. $100 gift certificate to a major music retailer The top Beta Bands in each beta channel will receive a $100 gift certificate to a major music instrument retailer at the completion of the beta program. A chance to shine with limited competition A limited number of bands per channel will be allowed into the Beta program, so your band will definitely get noticed - and will have a much easier shot at making the finals than during the regular competition, where hundreds or thousands of bands will be competing for the same attention. CAN ANY BAND BE A BETA BAND? YES! With only a few guidelines... The InfamousBands.com $30,000 Online Battle of the Bands is open to UNSIGNED BANDS and INDIE artists only. If you are on a major label, you can't compete. Why? Because you're already superfamous and you don't need the money. Or the infamy. And we don't feel like running around dealing with your label's legal department to have your music on our site. INDIE ARTISTS: Make sure your indie label is cool with you competing on our site. You will be able to sell your downloadable music here at some point, so if you have to pay your indie label a cut, make sure you do so, and remember it's ON YOU to ensure that you are not violating your contract with your label. Lastly, only ORIGINAL MUSIC is allowed in this competition - no covers or remixes - so if, for example, you're a DJ and you want to compete in the instrumental channel, make sure all your music is royalty-free. If you guys do something to get us sued, we WILL find you. Muahahahahaha... HOW LONG WILL THE BETA PROGRAM LAST? It depends. We'll be rolling out new features during the program, getting your feedback, and responding to the needs of our sponsors. We anticipate a 90 day beta from the date that we have all of our beta testers signed up, but it could be shorter or longer depending on many factors. HOW DO I APPLY?
