WHAT IS INFAMOUSBANDS.COM?

You've probably already figured it out on your own (you look like a sharp one), but it's a website.

Oh, you mean specifically...sorry.

InfamousBands.com is a $30,000 online "battle of the bands" site where bands will compete for fame and cash.  First, unsigned bands will choose from six different channels to compete in - rock, urban, blues, country, pop and instrumental.  Then they create a profile and upload their recorded music.

Fans - and other bands - will rank the songs that have been uploaded, and the highest  ranked songs from each channel for the month will compete in a monthly finals.  The winner of each channel will be featured prominently in the InfamousBands.com Hall of Infamy, where they'll gain gazillions of adoring fans, and probably sell a bunch of singles and albums in the process.  They then go on to the Annual Finals, where they will compete with the other 12 monthly finalists from their channel for the grand prize - $5,000 cash.

IS THAT IT?

Nope.  Not even close.  But the rest is a secret.  For now.

WHEN DOES ALL THIS START?

The Beta site goes live soon, and it's open to bands by invitation only.  (Bands can request an invitation code here).  How soon?  Just soon.  That's all we have to say on the subject.  Web programmers are from another dimension where time passes at an inconsistent rate inversely relative to the tournament schedules of World of Warcraft.

WHAT IF MY MUSIC ISN'T ONE OF THE ABOVE STYLES?

Just pick one that's close.  Or write a new song.  Or join a new band.  Or take up bowling.

SO WHAT DO I DO NOW?

Are you hungry?  Go make yourself a sammich.  Ah, you meant here on the website.  If you're a fan and you want to win 500 bucks, go here.  If you're a band and you want to get in on the Beta program, go here.  If you're in the music industry and want to find out how to advertise on IB, go here.

But we still suggest having a sammich, too.  You know you want one.  You're thinking about it right now, aren't you?
